Everyone desires a good physique or strives to improve their stamina in their daily life goals and activities. There’s nothing wrong in wanting so many positives. But what good is that physique and stamina if you lack functionality?
Functionality is actually the flexibility of your muscles to move freely around the joints to avoid its wear and tear in daily life activities.
You might want to ask me, why is it so important to be flexible when you might not even use your flexibility in your day to day life. That’s where our thinking goes wrong, because we actually know that it is a flexible body that helps our muscles move freely and avoid pains across all the joints and muscles in our bodies.
In simple words, your body has an outer layer of covering right from the crown of your head to the sole of your feet. This outer layer or covering is called as your fascia tissue which provides mobility to all the moving muscles in your body.
If this tissue is not flexed from time to time, it will lose it’s elasticity. So now you know how important it is to focus on flexibility training.
You can do your mobility drills before any workout to warm your muscles. But always stretch them by performing flexibility training exercises at the end of your workout.
If you perform flexing your muscles before your workout, they might relax and you might not have the best performance of the day as you would want your muscles to be more active and not relaxed during your workout.
So the next time you think about training your muscles for getting a good physic, remember the golden principle – ‘Flexibility leads to functionality.’
